Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels - Geneva

Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva was headlined by the spectacular 'Blue Moon', a sensational 12.03-carat fancy vivid blue internally flawless diamond which sold for 48,634,000 CHF ($48,468,158 USD) a world record for a gemstone at auction.

8.24 carats, Fancy Vivid Purple-Pink, Natural Colour, SI1 Clarity. $ 13,900,000 CHF

Catalogue cover lot – a magnificent emerald and diamond necklace, by Harry Winston circa 1959 – $3.8 million.

Fancy orangey pink diamond pendant – 15.20 carats briolette pear – $ 4m.

A cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 40.13 carats, within a surround of marquise-shaped diamonds. Sold for $3,179,122
The sale achieved a total of 139,561,250 CHF.

A fancy brownish orange pink diamond ring set with a pear-shaped diamond of 10.58 carats. Sold for $2,162,600 ($204,405 per carat)
