![]() | Gemfields’ eighth auction of rough rubies and corundum from Montepuez was it's best ever and saw 54 companies placing bids. The auction offered high and commercial grade rough rubies in both untreated and treated form. All treated lots were offered using industry-accepted treatment techniques and on a fully disclosed basis. The Gemfield auction generated total revenues of US$54.8 million at an average realized price of $61.13/ct. This represents an all-time high for any Gemfields auction and a 24% increase to the prior auction revenue record. On a quality-for-quality basis, the per carat prices reflected positive demand and were in line with the Gemfields’expectations. |
